I lead machine learning work from model training to production. Recently that has meant Visual Intelligence domains and the text encoders behind Genmoji and Image Playground. Before Apple, I spent three years at Google on Search Ads 360 and four years at Microsoft on Bing, and before that I co-founded a startup as its CTO. I’m based in Kirkland, WA.

Led development of the Art and Media domains for Visual Intelligence lookup, and took the Weather domain from development through deployment.

Led the text encoders for the diffusion model behind Genmoji and Image Playground.

Led the initiative end to end: coordinated work across three organizations and led five engineers from four teams through implementation.

Music videos and movie trailers on Bing
Designed and built the backend for music video and movie trailer search on Bing.com: data collection, video classification models, and the service that returns results. Used by more than 100,000 people a month.
